Surgery Residency

Applying to Our Program

All applications are done through ERAS. Applicants are invited for interviews via email and should respond to invitations sent via email. All the information listed below will be needed in order for your application to be processed.

The deadline for applications is October 21, 2023.

We will be hosting a virtual "Meet & Greet" at 6:30 pm the evening before your scheduled interview. This will be a great opportunity for you to meet our current residents.

  1. Completed ERAS application
  2. USMLE scores (Must have a 220 or higher on the first attempt)
  3. Deans letter
  4. Official medical school transcript
  5. Personal statement
  6. Curriculum Vitae
  7. Two letters of recommendations

Positions

The following positions will be offered for the 2023-2024 academic year:

  • 5 categorical general surgery positions
  • 6 undesignated preliminary positions

Visas

As of 2013, NewYork-Presbyterian Queens no longer sponsors new incoming H1 visas, But we will continue to sponsor J1 visas. US clinical experience is preferred but not mandatory.
