Wayne Osten Named VP for System Development at NewYork-Presbyterian Healthcare System

NEW YORK

The former director of the New York State Department of Health's Office of Health Systems, Wayne M. Osten, has been appointed Vice President of NewYork-Presbyterian Healthcare System for System Development.

"Wayne Osten has always distinguished himself through his commitment to advancing the health care status of New Yorkers and his tireless efforts to assist New York State hospitals and health care institutions in their mission to continuously improve access to quality care," says Dr. Herbert Pardes, President and CEO of NewYork-Presbyterian Healthcare System.

"Many of us have had the privilege of working closely and collaboratively with Wayne in his previous role, and we are sure to benefit from his extraordinary depth and breath of expertise here at NewYork-Presbyterian Healthcare System," says Dr. Arthur A. Klein, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of NewYork-Presbyterian Healthcare System.

In his new role, Mr. Osten will help foster the development evolution of the Healthcare System. He will also identify and create opportunities for the System's expanded operational and academic role in health policy education and research.

Mr. Osten received a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree from the Graduate School of Public Affairs at the State University of New York, Albany, in 1973. Subsequently, he worked thirty years for New York State in roles, including Assistant Director of Health Care Surveillance and Director of the Bureau of Hospital Services – both for the Office of Health Systems Management.
