17 seniors given certificates of appreciation for knitting blankets

Seniors Honored for Baby Blanket Project

NewYork-Presbyterian/Hudson Valley Hospital has honored the Verplanck Senior Citizen’s Club for its support of new mothers at the NewYork-Presbyterian/Hudson Valley Hospital. Club members were awarded certificates of appreciation for their donation of hand-knit baby blankets for newborns at the Hospital’s Maternity Center. The club has knitted more than 300 blankets since it began the project with the Hendrick Hudson Library 19 months ago.

Honored for their volunteerism at the club's installation meeting on Oct. 21 were: Annie Bump, Michelina Cerreto, Nan Devlin, Kathleen Hegarty, Virginia Juliano, Margaret Karlik, Patricia Keefe, Joanne Leader, Rose Mason, Terri McHale, Mary Napurski, Joan Perno, Margaret Saladino, Catherine Scanlon, Katherine Slocum, Angelina Smith and Mary Sozzi.
