Rick Evans Rejoins NewYork-Presbyterian as SVP and Chief Experience Officer

NewYork-Presbyterian has announced that Rick Evans is returning as senior vice president and chief experience officer, effective November 1.
“Rick is one of the brightest minds in country when it comes to patient-centered care,” said Dr. Steven J. Corwin, president and CEO of NewYork-Presbyterian. “Bringing him back to our institution will enhance our ability to provide the highest quality of care to our patients.”

Prior to rejoining NewYork-Presbyterian, Mr. Evans was the chief experience officer of Massachusetts General Hospital (Mass General) and Massachusetts General Physicians Organization. In this role, he developed and implemented a comprehensive strategy to improve the patient experience across the continuum of care that resulted in the some of the highest patient satisfaction ratings for any academic medical center in the nation. He also oversaw physician leadership training programs, visitor education programs and the organization’s referral management office, which focuses on access and satisfaction for providers that use Mass General.
Mr. Evans served as vice president of support services and patient-centered care in his previous role at NewYork-Presbyterian. He led efforts to implement and promote the organization’s groundbreaking patient experience strategy, “We Put Patients First.” In addition, he oversaw support services functions including housekeeping, food service, patient escort and laundry departments.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Evans served as the vice president of mission services for the Bon Secours and Canterbury Partnership for Care in Hudson County, New Jersey and also as the director of the St. Francis Hospital Foundation in Wilmington, Delaware. He has also served in leadership roles in local and national not-for-profit organizations before moving into healthcare. He holds a Master’s Degree in theology from Christ the King Seminary in East Aurora, New York and a Bachelor’s Degree in philosophy from Wadhams Hall Seminary College in Ogdensburg, New York.
