NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital has been recognized as New York’s top-ranked healthcare employer and the state’s sixth best employer overall by Forbes magazine in its inaugural “America’s Best-in-State Employers 2019” list. In total, 146 organizations made the New York list.

“We are honored to be recognized by Forbes as one of the best employers in New York,” said Dr. Steven J. Corwin, president and CEO of NewYork-Presbyterian. “Our exceptional employees are dedicated to providing the very best care to our patients and the communities we serve, and we are committed to supporting them by building a culture of respect and belonging where every individual feels valued and included.”

“We appreciate the contributions of all of our employees who go above and beyond every day to provide the very best care to our patients,” said Dr. Laura Forese, executive vice president and chief operating officer of NewYork-Presbyterian. “We are proud of our extraordinary team and all that they do for our patients, and are delighted to be recognized as the best healthcare employer in New York.”

Forbes partnered with the market research company Statista to pinpoint the organizations liked best by employees in its first-ever ranking of America’s best employers by state. The rankings were based on independent, anonymous surveys of approximately 80,000 U.S. employees working for companies employing at least 500 people. Employees were asked to rate their willingness to recommend their own employers to friends and family and to give their opinions on a series of topics such as working conditions, salary, and potential for development.

“We strive to foster a diverse, inclusive and supportive environment for our employees as they deliver outstanding patient care,” said Shaun Smith, senior vice president and chief people officer of NewYork-Presbyterian. “Our employees are the key to our success as an organization, and we are proud to make NewYork-Presbyterian a workplace where our staff feels respected and engaged.”

The announcement comes on the heels of NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital’s recognition as one of the "150 Top Places to Work in Healthcare | 2019” by Becker’s Healthcare. Other recent honors include being named one of the “Best Places to Work in 2019” by Glassdoor, one of “America’s Best Employers” by Forbes magazine in 2018, and one of the nation’s top-rated hospital workplaces in 2018 by Indeed.
