NewYork-Presbyterian has been named to Working Mother’s 2019 list of 100 Best Companies for its culture and programs that support working families.

“We value our working parents who provide exceptional care to our patients and families and make our Hospital stronger,” says Dr. Laura Forese, executive vice president and chief operating officer at NewYork-Presbyterian. “At NewYork-Presbyterian, we have focused on building a culture that supports working parents, and we are pleased to be recognized by Working Mother for our efforts.”

NewYork-Presbyterian has introduced family-friendly policies that enable employees to balance childrearing and work. In 2017, NewYork-Presbyterian implemented a paid parental leave policy that is among the most comprehensive of its kind among New York City hospitals and health care systems. The benefit is available to all parents – women and men, including same-sex couples, whether for birth, adoption, or surrogacy. Additional benefits including backup childcare and adult/elder care were also introduced in 2017 so that employees can care for their families. NewYork-Presbyterian provides lactation rooms to support mothers returning to work. In addition, NewYork-Presbyterian has a strong track record of hiring and promoting women to leadership positions.

The Working Mother 100 Best Companies list this year celebrated companies that lead in the areas of inclusive benefits for families, such as gender-neutral parental leave, and accessible, affordable childcare.
