NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital has been named the official hospital of the New York Yankees, as part of a multiyear sponsorship arrangement with the Club, which includes medical care by the Hospital to be provided to the players at Yankee Stadium.

"Joining forces today are two of the city's top institutions — the legendary New York Yankees and NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, New York's largest and highest-rated hospital. We are very proud to formalize what has been a longstanding relationship with this team," said Dr. Herbert Pardes, CEO and president of NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital.

"We are excited about our partnership with NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, which begins this season and extends into the new Yankee Stadium," said Lonn A. Trost, New York Yankees chief operating officer.

NewYork-Presbyterian and the Yankees share a history that goes back over a century. The Hospital has treated numerous Yankees players over the years. And, NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia is located on the site of what was once the baseball diamond of the New York Highlanders, the original name of the Yankees. A commemorative plaque can be found in the Hospital's garden on Fort Washington and 166th Street.
