New York Methodist Offers New Treatments At Its Expanded Spine And Arthritis Center

To broaden the range of orthopedic services that are available to patients, New York Methodist Hospital recently expanded its Spine and Arthritis Center at 263 7th Avenue in Park Slope. The additional space enabled the Hospital to hire more specialists, such as spinal surgeons and orthopedic oncologists, which makes the Center an invaluable resource for people who are coping with a wide spectrum of orthopedic problems.  "Now, we have even more fellowship trained, board certified physicians who have very specific training in every subspecialty of orthopedics,  said Henry Tischler, M.D., chief of orthopedics at NYM.  "This will allow patients to receive the best care for any type of orthopedic issue that they have, whether its joint replacement or spinal surgery."  The increase in physicians also means that more patients can be seen each day, so it''s easier for people to book appointments.

In addition to the new orthopedic physicians, a neurologist with a specialty in multiple sclerosis joined the staff, which increases treatment options for multiple sclerosis patients.  A physiatrist provides new pain management services for individuals who suffer from chronic pain or other pain-related syndromes.

The recent renovation has also allowed the Center to increase the availability of its complementary and alternative services, which include acupuncture, massage therapy, chiropractic treatments, and Qi Gong classes.  For more information about the Spine and Arthritis Center, or to book an appointment, please call 718-246-8700.
