NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital Named One of the Nation’s Best Hospitals by U.S. News & World Report For 22nd Year in a Row and a #1 Hospital in New York
U.S. News & World Report recognizes NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital for its excellence as the only hospital in the nation to rank in 14 specialties in the top 15.

NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital has once again been recognized as one of the best hospitals in the nation and a #1 hospital in New York by U.S. News & World Report. This is the 22nd year in a row that the Hospital has been named among the top hospitals in the nation.
The Hospital, one of the largest and most comprehensive academic healthcare systems in the country, ranks in the top five nationwide in eight specialties: cardiology, heart & vascular surgery (No. 5); neurology and neurosurgery (No. 3); obstetrics and gynecology (No. 4); orthopedics (No. 4); psychiatry (No. 3); diabetes and endocrinology (No. 2); urology (No. 4); and rheumatology (No. 3), a collaborative program with Hospital for Special Surgery. NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, which has leading experts in every area of medicine, is the only hospital in the nation ranked in the top 15 in 14 of 15 specialties. NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital also has 12 specialties ranked in the top 10, leading all New York City hospitals, and was newly recognized as a Best Regional Hospital for Community Access for providing excellent care to underserved communities.
Affiliated with two renowned medical schools, Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons and Weill Cornell Medicine, NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital is one of just 20 hospitals nationwide to be named to the 2025-26 Best Hospitals Honor Roll, a distinction recognizing hospitals that deliver the highest quality of care across a range of specialties, procedures, and conditions.
For the 2025-2026 rankings and ratings, U.S. News evaluated more than 4,400 facilities across 15 specialties and 22 procedures and conditions; only 13% earned a Best Hospitals ranking. To determine the Best Hospitals, U.S. News analyzed each hospital’s performance based on objective measures such as risk-adjusted mortality rates, preventable complications and level of nursing care.
The Children’s Hospital of New York at NewYork-Presbyterian was named New York’s No. 1 children’s hospital and among the best in the nation for children’s care, according to U.S. News & World Report’s 2024-25 Best Children’s Hospitals rankings, the latest rankings to be released. It was the 18th year in a row that NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital ranked among the best children’s hospitals. NewYork-Presbyterian provides pediatric care in every area of medicine at two major sites: NewYork-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital of Children’s Hospital of New York and NewYork-Presbyterian Komansky Children’s Hospital of Children’s Hospital of New York.
