NewYork-Presbyterian Earns an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group
All eligible NewYork-Presbyterian hospitals achieved national recognition for commitment to patient safety

NewYork-Presbyterian hospitals have earned an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, an independent national nonprofit watchdog focused on patient safety. Leapfrog assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D” or “F” grade to hospitals across the country using evidence-based measures of patient safety focused exclusively on errors, accidents, injuries and infections.
The achievement is a testament to NewYork-Presbyterian’s commitment to providing the highest quality, compassionate care and the team’s expertise, training, and dedication to putting patients’ safety first.
All eligible NewYork-Presbyterian hospitals earned an “A,” the highest recognition for patient safety among U.S. hospitals:
- NewYork-Presbyterian Allen Hospital
- NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital
- NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center
- NewYork-Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital
- NewYork-Presbyterian Lower Manhattan Hospital
- NewYork-Presbyterian Queens
- NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center
- NewYork-Presbyterian Westchester
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade program is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.
