New York Methodist Hospital was recently recognized as a 2006-2007 Consumer Choice Award winner by the National Research Corporation (NRC). The award identifies those hospitals which healthcare consumers have chosen as having the highest quality and image in 180 markets throughout the United States. Winners are determined by consumer perceptions on factors such as quality of care and image, patients satisfaction and range of services. Data is collected from over 200,000 households in the United States and reported in the annual NRC Market Guide, the largest and most comprehensive study of its kind. Of the hospitals named by consumers in the study, the wining facilities rank highest in their Metropolitan Statistical Areas (NYM''s is Kings County) as defined by the U.S. Census Bureau.
