New York
The world’s leading performing arts center, Lincoln Center and NewYork-Presbyterian, New York City’s top hospital, announced a new collaboration making NewYork-Presbyterian the Official Hospital of Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts (LCPA). It is the first time LCPA has designated a hospital as a wellness sponsor.
The sponsorship will kick off with Midsummer Night Swing, New York’s beloved series welcoming dancers of all skill levels and from a diverse background to Lincoln Center. NewYork-Presbyterian is a presenting sponsor of the series, which takes place under the stars from June 21 through July 9th.
“This new relationship represents two iconic New York City institutions coming together to offer the very best in both arts and wellness,” said Dr. Steven J. Corwin, president and CEO of NewYork-Presbyterian. “As the Official Hospital of Lincoln Center, we look forward to presenting some of the nation’s most enriching and engaging fine arts programs, including the much anticipated Midsummer Night Swing series, the LC Kids initiative and other forthcoming collaborations for our patients and the people of New York.”
“Community based programming is a priority for Lincoln Center,” said Katherine Farley, Lincoln Center Chairman. “We are thrilled to collaborate with NewYork-Presbyterian, which has a long commitment to community enrichment, to bring the healing power of the arts to all New Yorkers, especially NewYork-Presbyterian patients, families and employees.”
NewYork-Presbyterian will also collaborate with Lincoln Center on its family program, LC Kids, creating health and wellness activities and celebrations for families, featuring world-class performances, free events and programming for patron families. In addition, Lincoln Center will work with NewYork-Presbyterian to bring exciting events and/or performances to local NewYork-Presbyterian campuses, so that patients who are unable to physically go to Lincoln Center can still experience the arts.
Each year, Lincoln Center sees more than five million visitors and presents more than 3,000 free and ticketed events, performances, tours and educational activities. The new relationship with NewYork-Presbyterian aims to improve health and wellness across New York City communities.
