Patients of NewYork-Presbyterian/Hudson Valley Hospital can now access their medical records and check on upcoming hospital appointments on line with the launch of a new patient portal.

"This will be a major benefit to our patients and their families," said NewYork-Presbyterian/Hudson Valley Hospital President John Federspiel. "Our staff can sign patients up so they can create an account and use this new service."

The new service, called MyHVHC, allows patients to securely access portions of their electronic medical records, upcoming appointments and other information. Through the portal patients can:

  • Access portions of their health records in one place, such as procedures, lab and test results, immunizations, medications and allergies.
  • Check on upcoming medical appointments at HVHC
  • Give family members or their doctors easy access to records.

The new patient portal is part of the Affordable Health Care Act and is aimed at improving patients’ access to medical records, as well as, reducing paper records for cost savings.

Patients can sign up for a portal account the next time they are in the emergency room, admitted as an inpatient or if they are having surgery. Patients cannot access past records, only new records created after the launch of the system.

Patients who have an account can log into their records by visiting the hospital website at hvhc.npgdev.com and looking for the MyHVHC logo.

For more information on the patient portal, call 914-734-3557.
