Feb 18, 2014
Bronxville, NY
Lawrence Hospital Center will be holding free guided meditation sessions for those who have been diagnosed with cancer. The sessions will be held every fourth Thursday from 4-5 p.m. at Lawrence's Palmer Hall, 3rd floor conference room. The first session will be held on February 27th.
The sessions will be led by Shoshana Peyser who received training in guided meditation from Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and the Art of Living Foundation. Peyser has more than 20 years of healthcare experience as a clinical and research social worker.
“Research shows that meditation may help improve the quality of life for people with cancer, as well as help alleviate some of its symptoms,” said Lawrence Hospital Center's Cancer Survivorship Director Shirley Stagner. “The sessions will give individuals the chance to practice meditation with a skilled leader who will help incorporate this helpful practice into people's daily lives.”
Free parking is available. For more information contact Shirley Stagner, ONP, AOCNP at 914-787-4115.
