Employees at NewYork-Presbyterian/Hudson Valley Hospital were honored on May 9 for their years of service to the Hospital, some putting in 40 years on the job. Two hundred and thirty of the Hospital’s 1,200 employees were also honored for perfect attendance.

Hudson Valley Hospital President John Federspiel said that there are few companies that can boast about such perfect attendance. "This is a reflection of the culture we have here at NewYork-Presbyterian/Hudson Valley Hospital," said Federspiel, speaking to employees at the Hospital’s annual Service Awards Ceremony. "When you have 230 people with perfect attendance and another 166 dedicating so many years of service to one hospital, it has a positive effect on our core measures and the quality of care we provide."

One employee honored for more than 40 years with the hospital is Linda Paupst.
Paupst started her career at HVHC as a candy striper and eventually became an LPN. She is now instrumental in the training new staff and is an expert patient care technician in the progressive care unit.

"Linda is a take charge person who holds the team to high standards when it comes to patient care. She truly cares about the patient and expects everybody else to meet her standards. HVHC is lucky to have had Linda committed to our hospital for 40 years," said Kathy Webster, Vice President of Patient Services.
