New York Methodist Hospital hosts a free pulmonary hypertension (PH) support group for individuals diagnosed with PH. The Pulmonary Hypertension Support Group will meet on Monday, December 1, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Hospital's Wesley House, Room 7A, 501 Sixth Street, Park Slope, Brooklyn. New York Methodist Hospital offers a free breastfeeding support group for new mothers. This group meets weekly on Tuesdays from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. The Breastfeeding Support Group focuses on providing encouragement and information for mothers and their newborns, from birth to three months old. A certified lactation consultant leads the group. The meetings take place in the Hospital's Wesley House, Rooms 3K-C, 501 Sixth Street, Park Slope, Brooklyn. New York Methodist Hospital hosts several free support groups for individuals diagnosed with Parkinson's disease and their caregivers.

  • The Parkinson's Disease Patient Support Group will meet on Thursday, December 4, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in Wesley House 6A, located at 501 Sixth Street, Park Slope, Brooklyn.
  • The Parkinson's Wellness and Exercise Class will take place on Thursday, December 11, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at 748 Union Street, Park Slope, Brooklyn.
  • The Parkinson's Caregivers Support Group will meet on Thursday, December 11, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Call for location.

New York Methodist Hospital offers a free cancer support group open to individuals who have been diagnosed with cancer and their loved ones. The Cancer Support Group will meet on Thursday, December 4, 2014 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Hospital's Wesley House, Room 6B, 501 Sixth Street, Park Slope, Brooklyn. New York Methodist Hospital offers a free awareness group for patients who have experienced brain aneurysms or subarachnoid hemorrhages (SAH) which can lead to stroke. The Brain Aneurysm Support Group will meet on Saturday, December 13, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The meeting will take place in the Executive Dining Room, located at 506 Sixth Street, Park Slope, Brooklyn. New York Methodist Hospital offers a free monthly senior seminar series at Brooklyn College. This month join Michael McComiskey as he presents a workshop on the ancient Chinese practice of Qigong meditation, relaxation and exercise on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Brooklyn College Student Center located at East 27th Street and Campus Road. New York Methodist Hospital hosts a free hepatitis C (HCV) support group for people living with HCV and their loved ones. The group is directed by a physician specializing in liver disorders. The Hepatitis C Support Group will meet on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Hospital's Executive Dining Room, located at 506 Sixth Street, Park Slope, Brooklyn. New York Methodist Hospital offers free surgical weight reduction information seminars and support group meetings open to individuals interested in learning about surgical weight reduction, as well as those who have undergone surgical weight reduction. This month the NYM Surgical Weight Reduction Information Seminar and Support Group meeting will take place on Thursday, December 18, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Hospital's East Pavilion Auditorium located at 506 Sixth Street, Park Slope, Brooklyn.
