Oct 4, 2010
Cortlandt Manor, NY
An impressive ensemble of experts will give a fresh perspective on the secrets to good health on Saturday, November 13 when NewYork-Presbyterian/Hudson Valley Hospital holds its 10th Annual Women’s Symposium at the Chalet on the Hudson in Cold Spring.
The event will be held from 8:30 am-2 p.m. Tickets are $45 and include breakfast, lunch, lectures, gift bag and raffle prizes.
Headlining the event will be award-winning author Nancy Slonim Aronie, who conducts writing workshops to help writers find their true voice. Aronie, author of Writing from the Heart, will speak on "Standing in Another Place," exploring how changing our perspective can transform us. A commentator for NPR’s "All Things Considered," a teacher, McCall's Magazine columnist and radio talk show host, Aronie uses her own journey with her handicapped son to make her point. Writing and finding one’s true voice is a powerful outlet that can relief stress and help us to heal, according to Aronie.
The day will also feature presentations on Heart Health, Healthy Cooking, Skin Care and Astrology. Kacey Morabito Grean, of WHUD’s Mike and Kacey in the Morning will be Mistress of Ceremonies.
