NewYork-Presbyterian offers a direct access colonoscopy program, which makes it easier for you to receive a screening colonoscopy without the need for an initial office visit. A direct access colonoscopy is a prevention tool for colorectal cancer and streamlines the process for eligible patients.
You may be eligible for the direct access colonoscopy program if:
- You are aged 45 or over
- You have a family history of colorectal cancer
- You are generally healthy and do not have other medical conditions like heart, lung, liver or kidney disease
- You are asymptomatic or do not have bleeding or pain
