Weill Cornell Imaging at NewYork-Presbyterian (WCINYP) Extension Clinic – Bay Ridge

Executive Summary: Weill Cornell Imaging at NewYork-Presbyterian (WCINYP), an existing Radiology Diagnostic and Treatment Center, has submitted a Full Review  Certificate of Need Application seeking New York State Department of Health approval to certify and construct a new extension clinic to be located at 436 86th Street, Brooklyn (Kings County), New York 11209.

The proposed new extension clinic will expand access to state-of-the-art imaging services, while alleviating the ongoing demand for radiological care in Brooklyn and the surrounding neighborhoods. The extension clinic will provide radiological imaging services including three (3) Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) units, one (1) Computed Tomography (CT) unit, one (1) Positron Emission Tomography Computed Tomography (PET CT) unit, one (1) X-Ray unit; two (2) Mammography units, and three (3) Ultrasound units.

As of June 22, 2023, New York State Public Health Law § 2802-b Health Equity Impact Assessments (HEIA) requires Article 28 facilities that meet criteria to file Certificate of Need Applications with relevant HEIA documentation. The HEIA is conducted by an independent entity and provides an assessment on the potential health equity impacts of projects proposed.
