Dr. Jeremy B. Wiygul joins NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Group/Queens to serve as director of pediatric urology at NewYork-Presbyterian/ Queens. Dr. Wiygul is also an assistant professor of clinical urology at Weill Cornell Medicine. He joins NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Group/Queens from The Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center, where he was chief of the Division of Pediatric Urology.

“NewYork-Presbyterian Queens is delighted to welcome Dr. Wiygul and his unique expertise in pediatric urology,” said Stephen Mills, president of NewYork-Presbyterian Queens. “His experience brings the hospital to the next level in providing comprehensive and state-of-the-art urologic care.”

“I came to NewYork-Presbyterian to work with Weill Cornell Medicine’s outstanding physicians, and to build a model of care replicable in other boroughs,” Dr. Wiygul said. “This is an opportunity to bring an unprecedented quality of care to the borough of Queens.”

Dr. Wiygul is one of only 250 pediatric urologists in the United States, and performs the latest surgical techniques, including robotic-assisted and laparoscopic surgery, for correcting many urologic conditions. He manages the full complement of genitourinary diseases in children, including varicoceles, inguinal and umbilical hernias, hydroceles, urinary incontinence, all types of bladder and kidney defects and penile defects in boys.

Dr. Wiygul developed a mobile application designed for treating children with urinary incontinence. The application, HapPee Time, allows recording of dietary and toileting habits data in children in a log-type format, as well as rewarding good behavior with badges. It also allows information gathered from the app to be emailed to a treating physician, who can then use the data to make further health recommendations. The application is available on Google Play and the App Store.

Dr. Wiygul received a Bachelor of Science from the University of Houston and his medical degree from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine. He completed his urology residency at Duke Health, and his fellowship training in pediatric urology at Steven and Alexandra Cohen Children’s Medical Center. Dr. Wiygul has expertise in all areas of pediatric urology and adult reconstructive surgeries for urethral disease.
