Specialized Psychiatry Services for Children

Pediatric Psychiatry at NewYork-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital

The Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at NewYork-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital is committed to investing in the well being of the whole child and his or her family. We provide services at specialized outpatient clinics for children with a wide range of psychiatric disorders, including but not limited to:

  • Disruptive behavior disorders
  • Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Psychosis

In addition, our team provides community-based mental health services, such as school-based mental health services in ten local elementary schools and mental health services at three NewYork-Presbyterian primary care clinics.

If a child comes to the emergency room or is hospitalized for medical or surgical treatment, our team offers psychiatric consultation to facilitate his or her ability to:

  • Participate in medical care
  • Cope with illness or injury
  • Ease anxiety surrounding difficult tests and procedures
  • Enhance recovery

NewYork-Presbyterian Komansky Children's Hospital has access to an array of state-of-the art, evidence-based mental health services for children and adolescents offered at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center. The Division of Child Development provide evaluations, management, and referrals for ADHD and offers treatments such as:

  • Medications
  • Support, counseling, or therapy
  • Special education
  • Skills training for getting along with others
  • Behavior modification
  • Occupational therapy
