NEW YORK

“NY Med,” the hit television series filmed at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, returns to television this week. The second season of the series will premiere tomorrow, Thursday, June 26, at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time on ABC and will run for eight weeks.

The all-new series takes an intimate look at life inside one of the busiest and largest hospitals in the nation. An ABC News crew spent a year filming the 24/7 action at the hospital, interviewing patients, family members, physicians, and nurses in emergency rooms, operating rooms, doctors’ offices, and waiting areas. The result is an extraordinary blend of dramatic and poignant medical stories, told through the voices of patients and loved ones who are facing major life challenges and the medical professionals who make up the close-knit family at NewYork-Presbyterian.

Among the doctors and nurses making return appearances in this year’s series are heart surgeons Dr. Mehmet Oz, Dr. Michael Argenziano, and Dr. Len Girardi, neurosurgeon Dr. Guy McKhann, and emergency medicine physicians Dr. Alexis Halpern and Dr. Michael Stern.

Newcomers include heart surgeon Dr. Mathew Williams, kidney transplant surgeon Dr. Sandip Kapur, neurosurgeon Dr. Phil Stieg, and lung surgeon Dr. Nasser Altorki.

“The first series of ‘NY Med’ vividly showcased the outstanding, cutting-edge medical care we provide,” says Dr. Steven J. Corwin, chief executive officer of NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. “More importantly, every episode reflected our hospital culture of caring and compassion, and the dedication of our physicians, nurses, and staff. We look forward to this second season, and we thank our patients and their families for the privilege of caring for them and for sharing their stories during such a vulnerable time in their lives.”
