New York – NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital has been recognized as one of the nation’s top hospitals to work at in 2019 by Indeed, the global job site. The annual “Top-Rated Workplaces: Best Hospitals” list is based on employee ratings and reviews on Indeed.

“We are honored to be recognized by Indeed as one of the best hospital workplaces in the country,” said Dr. Steven J. Corwin, president and CEO of NewYork-Presbyterian. “This award is a reflection of our extraordinary employees, our dedication to providing the very best care to our patients and the communities we serve, and our commitment to nurturing a culture of respect and belonging that embraces the diversity of our workforce.”

The annual list honors hospitals that have received the highest overall ratings by users of Company Pages, Indeed’s database of over 180 million company ratings and reviews from employees. It compiled this list by including hospitals with at least 100 reviews between 2017 and 2019.

“Every day our dedicated employees demonstrate a level of professionalism and passion for patient care that is truly inspiring,” said Dr. Laura Forese, executive vice president and chief operating officer of NewYork-Presbyterian. “We are proud of our exceptional team and will continue to support an environment where everyone feels valued, included, and excited to be part of our enterprise.”

NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital was ranked second in the nation on the “Top-Rated Workplaces: Best Hospitals” list, with nearly 90 percent of employees approving of the CEO’s performance. Employees gave NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital high ratings in areas such as work/life balance and compensation/benefits.

“Our goal is to make this institution a place where every employee has the opportunity to thrive and feel like they belong,” said Shaun Smith, senior vice president and chief people officer of NewYork-Presbyterian. “This recognition is a wonderful testament to everyone who has helped make this an outstanding workplace for our staff.”

NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital was recently recognized as New York’s top-ranked healthcare employer and the state’s sixth best employer overall by Forbes magazine in its inaugural “America’s Best-in-State Employers 2019” list. It was also honored as one of the "150 Top Places to Work in Healthcare | 2019” by Becker’s Healthcare, was named one of the “Best Places to Work in 2019” by Glassdoor, and earned a spot on Working Mother’s 2019 list of 100 Best Companies for its culture and programs that support working families.
