NewYork-Presbyterian has been recognized as one of “America’s Best Employers 2017” by Forbes magazine. NewYork-Presbyterian is the only New York City healthcare organization on the list, which is comprised of large employers with more than 5,000 employees across 25 industries.

“At NewYork-Presbyterian, we recognize that we cannot deliver world-class care without a world-class workforce,” said Dr. Steven J. Corwin, president and CEO, NewYork-Presbyterian. “In recent years, we have focused on building a culture of respect for all employees, and this recognition is a sign that we are succeeding.”

“As an employer, we aim to show the same dedication to our employees that they show every day in taking care of our patients,” said Dr. Laura Forese, executive vice president and COO, NewYork-Presbyterian. “From front-line staff to senior leadership, we understand that our employees are the key to our success as an organization.”

This year’s best employer rankings were determined by a survey of 30,000 American workers by the research firm Statista. The selected workers completed a questionnaire with questions about their workplace and benefits. The most important metric was how likely employees were to recommend their organization to friends and family, but the firm also looked at benefits offered, workplace diversity, career advancement opportunities and recognition of performance.

“One of our primary goals as an institution is to recruit and retain the best employees our industry has to offer,” said Shaun Smith, senior vice president and chief human resources officer, NewYork-Presbyterian. “We have created an environment where our employees can thrive in their roles and explore exciting opportunities to advance their careers.”
