Specialized Psychiatry Services for Children

Pediatric psychiatry at NewYork-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital

The Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at NewYork-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital is committed to investing in the well-being of the whole child and his or her family. We provide services at specialized outpatient clinics for children with a wide range of psychiatric disorders, including but not limited to:

  • Disruptive behavior disorders
  • Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Psychosis

In addition, our team provides community-based mental health services, such as school-based mental health services in ten local elementary schools and mental health services at three NewYork-Presbyterian primary care clinics.

If a child comes to the emergency room or is hospitalized for medical or surgical treatment, our team offers psychiatric consultation to facilitate his or her ability to:

  • Participate in medical care
  • Cope with illness or injury
  • Ease anxiety surrounding difficult tests and procedures
  • Enhance recovery

NewYork-Presbyterian Komansky Children's Hospital has access to an array of state-of-the-art, evidence-based mental health services for children and adolescents offered at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center. The Division of Child Development provides evaluations, management, and referrals for ADHD and offers treatments such as:

  • Medications
  • Support, counseling, or therapy
  • Special education
  • Skills training for getting along with others
  • Behavior modification
  • Occupational therapy
