After Baby is Born
After your baby is born, you will be taken to a private room for the rest of your recovery and stay. Each private room is large enough to accommodate partners who are welcome to stay overnight and friends and family members to meet the newest addition to the family.
We encourage skin-to-skin contact with your baby immediately after your baby is born and as often as possible throughout the post delivery period. Research has shown that skin-to-skin contact help babies stay warmer, feel more secure, cry less, breastfeed better, and it also helps to keep their blood sugar, heart rate, and respiration stable.
We support “rooming in,” when mother and baby stay together in the same room, because it has many physical and emotional benefits for mother and baby. You will grow more comfortable with your baby’s needs by the time you go home together and will be more confident in your ability to care for your baby.
