Application Process

Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS)

Applications for residency must be completed through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) of the NRMP, with ACGME code #2803511074. In order for us to review your file, we require a copy of your CV, Personal Statement, USMLE scores, three recommendation letters, and transcripts. Please note, we DO NOT require your Dean's letter in order for us to start scheduling interviews. Interviews are scheduled as soon as the Program Directors review your file.

Every application downloaded to the program will be reviewed by our Residency Review Committee upon receipt from ERAS. Approximately 50 applicants will be granted interviews and notified by November 4th that they have been invited to interview. Interviews will be conducted on Tuesday, December 3rd, Saturday, December 7th and Friday, December 13th, 2019. The schedule will include interviewing with members of the teaching staff, meeting with our graduate staff, and touring the facilities.

Candidates matched for a residency position are automatically accepted for all five years of specialty training at NYPH (PGY 1-5). Each year four trainees are selected, for a total of twenty residents in the five-year program.
