The Campaign for NewYork-Presbyterian

Every parent wants world-class healthcare for their children so they can achieve their full potential. Whether they discover developmental delays early or help teenage patients navigate the physical and emotional challenges of adolescence, the right clinicians can make an enormous difference in a child’s life.
Yet many children lack access to this level of care.
As pioneers in children’s health, Children's Hospital of New York at NewYork-Presbyterian connects kids with the care they need, no matter where they live—whether that’s for a preterm infant in a Manhattan NICU or a young teen in the Bronx at her pediatrician’s office. No matter which borough they live in, which hospital they visit, or what their parents can afford to pay, our youngest patients receive the same excellent multidisciplinary care everywhere we reach them.
Now is the time to elevate and extend our top-tier pediatric services. NYP is ready to bring our best-in-class physicians, our state-of-the-art technology, and our relentless pursuit of health justice to bear on a bold goal: creating a brighter tomorrow for more children and adolescents than ever before.
With your support, we can recruit more top-tier medical professionals to pioneer and deliver life-saving children’s therapies. We can fund leading-edge innovations and build spaces that allow us to provide an even wider spectrum of pediatric services. And we can reach more young people in need.
Because of our outstanding leaders, who provide expert pediatric care in every area of medicine, U.S. News & World Report has ranked NYP as the #1 children’s hospital in New York. At our hospitals across the New York metropolitan region—including Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Westchester, and the Hudson Valley—exceptional physicians from our Ivy League medical partners collaborate to offer the most advanced and comprehensive care to children of all backgrounds.
We care for many of the sickest children in the nation. Families come to us because no other place in New York offers the level of care we provide. Despite taking on the most complex cases, our patients consistently experience better outcomes than anywhere else. We also treat every child who needs us, regardless of their ability to pay. When others say no, we say yes. Philanthropy makes that 'yes' possible. It allows us to dream bigger, move faster, and care more fully.”

A child’s first three years set the trajectory for their entire life. Prevention is our most powerful tool to ensure children can grow and thrive, and we know how social determinants of health—the social, economic, and environmental factors that influence a child’s well-being and access to healthcare—impact health outcomes. NewYork-Presbyterian Komansky Children's Hospital is dedicated to promoting health equity and disease prevention through comprehensive care, vaccination programs, and groundbreaking research. By investing in children’s health today, we are building a brighter future for all. The power is in our hands to reshape health in childhood and lifelong by addressing the social factors related to disease outcomes and how we deliver equitable, quality care at the start of life.”

Aiden
Aiden Rodriguez is a seven-year-old who loves the color red and wants to be a chef when he grows up. He’s also the first patient in the world ever treated with intra-arterial chemotherapy for choroid plexus carcinoma, a rare pediatric brain tumor.
He has no evidence of disease, his family is thrilled, and he’s back in school,” says Dr. Souweidane. “He has a long road ahead of him, but I don’t think that anyone expected he would be doing so well.”

Mia + Brooklyn
In May 2023, an integrated team of cardiologists and cardiothoracic surgeons at NewYork-Presbyterian/ Columbia University Irving Medical Center successfully performed the first-ever “domino,” or sequential, infant partial heart transplant in the world and the first partial heart transplant in a pediatric patient in New York.
We expect [Mia] to meet all the normal baby milestones … Brooklyn’s heart function is already improving from what it was before the operation. Both girls are doing wonderfully without any concerns.”
