Unmasking a Killer: How Immunotherapy Helps Your Body Find Cancer and Destroy It. Duration: 110 seconds.

Immunotherapy treatment

Columbia and Weill Cornell researchers at NewYork-Presbyterian are working with new immunotherapy drugs to kick the body’s immune system into gear, enabling it to fight off cancer cells just like it fights off viruses and bacteria. Different types of immunotherapy target different types of cancer, including cancers of the lung, liver, colon, kidneys, and skin. In combination with treatments such as chemotherapy and radiation therapy, the success rate of immunotherapy is giving scientists hope for more cures, for more patients, with even more clinical trials underway.
