Typical Rotation Schedule
During each year of training, the house officer assumes more and more responsibility for direct patient care.
PGY 1
- General Medical rotations: 9 Months
- Ambulatory Medicine: 1 Month
- Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center: 1 Month
- 1 month vacation
PGY 2
- General Medical rotations: 3 Months
- Ambulatory Medicine: 2 Months
- Elective: 1 Month
- Critical Care Units: 5 Months, divided among the ICU, Pulmonary StepDown and CCU.
- 1 month vacation
PG 3
(Supervision, Resident Teaching, Service Consultation)
- General Medicine rotations: 3 Months
- Ambulatory Medicine: 2 Months
- Emergency Medicine Department: 1 Month
- Electives: 3 Months
- Critical Care Unit: 2 Months
- 1 month vacation
