Payment Information and Financial Assistance

We accept Medicaid and many Medicaid Managed Care Plans. If you do not have insurance, someone from our team will talk with you about insurance programs you may qualify for and help you enroll. If you are not eligible for insurance benefits, we offer a low sliding fee scale adjusted to your income. You do NOT need to be a U.S. citizen to be seen in the Family Planning Center.

In New York State, you can come to any Medicaid provider in or out of your health plan for the gynecologic and family planning services you need (see the list below). That means you can always come to the Family Planning Center, whether or not NewYork-Presbyterian is in your Medicaid health plan. You don't need a referral from your regular doctor. If you have Medicaid or Medicaid managed care, you can come to the Family Planning Center for:

  • Birth control pills, condoms, IUDs, Depo-Provera, and contraceptive patch
  • Pelvic and breast exams, including Pap tests (when part of a family planning visit)
  • Pregnancy testing and referrals
  • Emergency contraception
  • Colposcopy
  • Sexually transmitted infection testing and treatment (when part of a family planning visit)
  • HIV testing and counseling (when part of a family planning visit)
