It was established in 1988 as one of the first Designated AIDS Centers in New York to be recognized by the New York State Department of Health.

Comprehensive Health Program

The Comprehensive Health Program at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center has provided care to patients of all ages with HIV/AIDS and other chronic infections since 1998. Today, we care for over 2,000 individuals with HIV, hepatitis C, STDs, and other infectious conditions. We also provide access to preventative measures such as pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP).

Domestic and Other Violence Emergencies (DOVE)

Through the DOVE program, we provide free, compassionate, and comprehensive care to victims of violent crimes (ages 12 and above), including domestic violence, physical and sexual assault, and elder abuse. Our services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Through this program, we also offer violence prevention education to those at risk for becoming victims, and for community and healthcare providers in a position to identify and assist individuals and families affected by violence.
