HEALTHOUTREACHÉ
is
a free program sponsored by NewYork- Presbyterian Hospital to
promote health and quality of life issues for people 60 years
of age and over.Ê It serves to provide the older adult with easy
access to vital information about health and social services available
in the metropolitan area and at the various hospital campuses.
MEMBERSHIP
IN HEALTHOUTREACH INCLUDES:
Monthly
Educational Programs with prominent great speakers covering
medical, social and legal issues relevant to the older adult.Ê
Recent topics include: Digestion, Dental Needs of the Mature Adult,
Human/Animal therapeutic bonds, Arthritis and Bereavement.
Screenings-
free appointments available for blood pressure and periodic
nutritional workshops.
Insurance
Claim Issues volunteer counselors are available by appointment
to assist you with questions related to Medicare, Medicaid or
Supplemental Health Insurance.
Notary
Services at no cost
Physician
Referral Service registered nurses and other health professionals
link you to NewYork- Presbyterian Hospital physicians and other
programs such as the Irving Sherwood Wright Center on Aging.
Bi-monthly
Newsletter keeping you informed of special hospital events,
investigational studies and health related services relevant to
the older adult.
Counseling
and Support Groups led by certified social workers who address
issues such as coping with loss, social isolation and healthy
aging.
