Liver Disease
NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital's liver specialists provide high-level expertise for a broad spectrum of liver problems. Both adult and pediatric patients with liver disease receive multidisciplinary medical and/or surgical care from subspecialists whose case volumes are among the largest in the country. Their expertise encompasses viral hepatitis, cirrhosis, primary biliary cirrhosis, autoimmune hepatitis, gastric liver diseases, HIV liver disease, primary sclerosing cholangitis, alcoholic liver disease, and liver cancer, as well as complications of liver disease, including itching, fatigue, and portal hypertension. Our physicians also work closely with basic virologists and immunologists to develop novel diagnostic tests and treatments for patients with liver diseases.
