The cardiac program at NewYork-Presbyterian Queens unites multiple service lines to achieve the best possible outcomes. We are very proud to be the only hospital in the borough of Queens to provide complete cardiac care. As the only hospital in the borough that can perform TAVR and open-heart surgery, our team of surgeons, physicians, nurses, and physician assistants are extremely proficient in a variety of approaches, levels of intervention, and surgical procedures to manage even the most complex cases and care for a wide range of cardiovascular diseases and syndromes including:

We offer a wide range of advanced cardiac screening and diagnostic tests to our patients based on their overall circumstances. These services include coronary CT scans and MRI, calcium scoring, 3D transesophageal echocardiography, nuclear stress testing, and the full complement of arrhythmia screening tools.

Cardiac Surgery

We are the only health system in the borough of Queens that offers cardiac surgery with a custom-tailored treatment plan. Our Weill Cornell Medicine heart surgeons specialize in heart surgery for adults with a wide range of disorders, routinely performing new, minimally invasive surgical procedures, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of professionals to deliver seamless, high-quality care.

The Cardiac Catheterization Lab

The NewYork-Presbyterian Queens Cardiac Catheterization Lab is the centerpiece of our cardiovascular program. It is awarded the Mission: Lifeline® Gold Award by the American Heart Association (AHA) for outstanding speed of treatment for patients experiencing a heart attack. The lab provides diagnostic and interventional procedures for coronary artery disease, peripheral vascular disease, and emergency treatment for heart attack patients. Our services include:

The Arrhythmia Center

As the only full-service electrophysiology laboratory in the borough of Queens, we are committed to providing patient-centered comprehensive care from office consultations to procedures that are all performed in our laboratory. Our team of cardiac electrophysiologists and care providers strive to offer the most leading-edge technologies available in electrophysiology. We are dedicated to the treatment of all types of cardiac rhythm disturbances to alleviate suffering, improve quality of life, and promote longevity.

Our electrophysiologists are experts at the diagnosis and treatment of palpitations, fainting, and symptoms attributable to abnormal cardiac rhythms. We provide consultation on inherited cardiac conditions associated with sudden cardiac death, including Brugada syndrome and long QT syndrome, among others. At the Arrhythmia Center, we offer numerous types of cardiac monitoring, including Holter monitors, event monitors, and continuous cardiac monitoring in traditional and leadless formats.

The Heart Valve Center

The Heart Valve Center at NewYork-Presbyterian Queens is dedicated to developing and evaluating new and less-invasive techniques for repairing and replacing damaged mitral, aortic, and pulmonary valves.

Our experts have played a leading role in clinical trials assessing the latest percutaneous valve replacement approaches, giving our center greater experience than most in these emerging new techniques.

Our multidisciplinary team assesses each patient using state-of-the-art diagnostic tools and recommends appropriate treatment solutions that are in the best interest of the patient. Treatment options may include an interventional procedure, surgery, or medical therapy.

Heart Failure Treatment

Our team provides comprehensive care in treating patients with all types and stages of heart failure, in both inpatient and outpatient practices, to maximize their quality of life. Our cardiologists use the most advanced diagnostic tools, imaging technology, and therapies to diagnose, treat and manage heart failure as early as possible. With a wide variety of treatments, as well as long-term care options, we provide our patients with the best possible outcomes. Treatments may include:

Collaborative Vascular and Endovascular Surgery

Our Weill Cornell Medicine physicians provide the most effective vascular and endovascular therapies to our patients. Our state-of-the-art hybrid interventional operating room allows us to offer our patients minimally invasive treatments to recover more quickly. We benchmark our open surgical outcomes using the AmericanCollege of Surgeons National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (ACS-NSQIP) and our peripheral cases using The Vascular Initiative (VQI), rivaling the results of the most advanced programs in the region.
