Early Social Interaction Study

Early Social Interaction - Community Outreach (ESI-CO)

The purpose of this study is to learn how an intervention works for very young children who have autism and who live in families with limited resources. The intervention lasts 3 months and is designed to train parents how to help their children increase social and communication skills.

Age: 18 months - 4 years old

Criteria: Child with autism and parent(s)/caregiver(s) with less than a 4-year college degree and family income equal to or below 2x the federal poverty line.

Duration: Three month intervention consisting of two 1 hour sessions each. Three research assessments taking place (1) at the beginning of the study, (2) after the last intervention session, and (3) a final assessment three months after the last session.

Compensation: $50 for completing each research assessment
