Dr. David Savage focuses on the diagnosis and management of anemia, leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, thrombosis and bleeding disorders. He is Professor of Clinical Medicine at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, and Director of the Adult Hematology/Oncology Fellowship Program. After receiving his M.D. at Columbia University and completing his residency and fellowship training at Harlem Hospital and Presbyterian Hospital, he was awarded an Associate Professorship at Columbia University and a Fulbright Lectureship at the University of Zimbabwe. He served as a clinical and academic hematologist in Harare, Zimbabwe, and then joined the Department of Hematology at the Charing Cross and Hammersmith Hospitals in London, where he focused on hematological malignancies and allogeneic and autologous stem cell transplantation. His return to the Division of Hematology/Oncology at Columbia enabled him to broaden the institution’s management of hematological malignancies at NewYork-Presbyterian. Dr. Savage’s clinical research has been a major focus of his career.
