At NewYork-Presbyterian/Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital, your child may receive one or more of these treatments for tibial pseudoarthrosis:
Medical Therapy: Therapy with "biologic" drugs such as "bone morphogenetic proteins" (BMP), which promote healing and reduce pain.
Surgery: We perform surgery to stabilize the affected leg using instrumentation, align the leg, and treat discrepancies in leg length (where one leg is shorter than the other, due to improper growth). Your child will typically need multiple surgeries as he or she grows.
Rehabilitation: We offer physical therapy tailored to your child's needs.
