If your child has problems with motility — the coordinated contraction and movement of the digestive tract — we know how much these problems can interfere with your child's and your family's quality of life. Children can develop motility disorders that range from relatively benign conditions such as constipation to more serious disorders such as Hirschsprung's disease.
NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital has two dedicated centers focused solely on children with motility problems: The Pediatric Gastrointestinal Motility Center at NewYork-Presbyterian/Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital and The Pediatric Motility Center at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Phyllis and David Komansky Center for Children's Health. We offer expert, comprehensive, family-centered care. Our goals are to help you understand the reasons for your child's symptoms and to improve his or her quality of life.
Our centers are among the few pediatric motility programs in the country, and the only ones in the New York metropolitan region providing advanced and comprehensive testing, consultation, and treatment of motility disorders in infants, children, adolescents, and young adults. Our team works closely with referring pediatricians and pediatric gastroenterologists whose patients need further assessment and treatment for motility disorders.
