Heart Healthy Turkey Cranberry Sandwich

Heart Healthy Turkey Cranberry Sandwich

Turkey is often associated with celebration, family, friends and Thanksgiving. Turkey is an excellent source of protein. Protein is an important part of a well-balanced diet. It helps support the immune system, maintains healthy skin, hair, and nails, aids in the production of enzymes, regulates hormones, provides fuel for energy, and supports the growth and repair of tissues, muscles, organs and bones. When choosing protein foods, it is best to select turkey, chicken, fish and beans rather than beef, pork chop and lamb, which are higher in saturated fat. This is a wonderful well-balanced healthy recipe you may use to combine your Thanksgiving leftovers.
