Welcome to Nursing at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, where experience and learning opportunities are endless. We are comprised of five facilities at four distinct geographic locations throughout the New York metropolitan area. We are one hospital offering every clinical specialty from primary care to cutting-edge quaternary care-it's all here for you.

Our Philosophy

Our philosophy of nursing is derived from the values of our profession, as well as the mission and vision of New York-Presbyterian. Central to that philosophy is the creation of a learning environment for you and our patients. We are committed to the highest quality and service, with sensitivity to patients who come from our communities and those who travel from afar to seek the best in health care.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide the highest quality patient-centered care by promoting a culture of caring, empathy and safety; educating our patients and families utilizing evidence-based practice and promoting professional nursing development and advancement.

Our Vision

The Department of Nursing's vision is to be one of the nation's leaders in nursing...

Our Care Delivery

Our care delivery model of Patient-centered Care means designing processes, and structuring work and interactions around each patient and his or her family across the continuum of care. The governing principles of patient-centered care ensure dignity and respect, information sharing, participation, collaboration, coordination of care, and professional nursing practice.

Our Governance

We utilize a Shared Governance model grounded in the concept of empowerment to give professional nurses the opportunity to both influence the strategic direction of patient care and participate in achieving the goals established by the department and the organization.

Our Commitment to You

We realize that at different points in our personal and professional lives, our needs change. That is why all of our centers offer full-time, part-time, and per diem job opportunities. And as you grow and develop new interests within the profession of nursing, we encourage the exploration of numerous career path opportunities and areas of clinical study. At NewYork-Presbyterian, we are constantly reevaluating our work environment to ensure that once you choose to work here, you will choose to stay.
