Phyllis Lantos Appointed Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer at NewYork-Presbyterian

NEW YORK (Oct 1, 2007)

Phyllis Lantos has been named Executive Vice President at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. She also maintains the titles of Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer. In the new position, she will be responsible for all financial matters related to the Hospital, including financial reporting, financial planning, revenue cycle, budget, reimbursement, cost accounting, financing, insurance and managed care.

"The health of our Hospital's finances directly affects the quality of care we are able to provide to our patients. Phyllis Lantos and her staff have continually shown a phenomenal ability to manage our bottom line, even in the continuing challenging economic climate for health care," says Dr. Herbert Pardes, President and CEO of NewYork-Presbyterian.

Ms. Lantos joined NewYork-Presbyterian in 2000 as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Previously she was Deputy Chief Operating Officer at Yale University School of Medicine and Vice President of Financial Management Services at Montefiore Medical Center. She has also held positions with the City of New York and Chemical Bank. She holds a S.M. Management degree from the Alfred P. Sloan School of Management (M.I.T.) and an S.B. in Mathematics from M.I.T.

"The Hospital also plays a larger leadership role, helping to shape health-care policy decisions with the goal of providing appropriate funding for and improved delivery of care in New York and nationally."

Ms. Lantos has served as an advisor or active participant in various technical committees for organizations, including the Greater New York Hospital Association, Hospital Association of New York State, Association of American Medical Colleges, New York State Department of Health and the American Hospital Association. Ms. Lantos is also chair of the board of trustees of MCIC Vermont, Inc., NewYork-Presbyterian's malpractice captive, and a member of the board of New York Hospital Queens.

Ms. Lantos is a native of Queens, New York, and currently resides in Westchester with her husband, Dr. George Lantos.
