EHE Patients Who Require Specialized Diagnosis and Care To Be Referred to NewYork-Presbyterian

New York, NY (Apr 15, 2004)

Executive Health Exams International (EHE) and NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, two of New York City's most experienced healthcare providers, have formed an alliance for the delivery of annual physical examinations for the early detection of disease, and for specialty treatment and diagnostic services required as a result of examination. EHE patients in the New York City-area requiring specialized diagnosis and treatment will be referred to NewYork-Presbyterian.

For 91 years, Executive Health Exams has performed annual physical examinations designed specifically for the early detection of life-threatening diseases. As the oldest and largest provider of physical examinations in the New York metropolitan area and nationally, EHE's signature exam program, Platinum, delivers evidence-based screening modalities customized to individuals' needs based on age, sex, and personal and family health histories. Headquartered in New York City's Rockefeller Plaza, the company also has centers in Chicago; Houston; Morristown, New Jersey; and Stamford, Connecticut. Additionally, the Platinum exam is available in approximately 100 cities nationwide through EHE's certified network of physician partners.

NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital is one of the most comprehensive university hospitals in the world, with leading specialists in every field of medicine. It is composed of five major centers: two renowned medical centers, NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center and NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center; Children's Hospital of NewYork-Presbyterian; The Allen Pavilion; and the Westchester Division. The Hospital is also affiliated with two Ivy League medical institutions, Columbia University College of Physicians Surgeons and Weill Cornell Medical College. For the past three years, NewYork-Presbyterian has been ranked higher in more specialties than any other hospital in the New York area by US News World Report. And, this year, more physicians from New York Presbyterian were named to Castle Connelly's America's Top Doctors than from any other hospital in the nation.

When we take into account that one in every five physicals will resultin a referral to a specialist, the alliance between EHE and NewYork-Presbyterianmakes good sense and provides continuity of care for the patient in a highlypersonalized manner, says Dr. Michael A. Berman, Executive Vice Presidentand Hospital Director at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital.

This partnership brings together two entities that have a longstandingcommitment to the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease, saysDeborah McKeever, President of Executive Health Exams International. NewYork-Presbyterianwill provide patients with advanced diagnostic options. Additionally, the cornerstoneof EHE's Platinum program is its post-exam services for those requiring furthercare. Meeting this need, NewYork-Presbyterian is an ideal healthcare partnerfor our New York City area patients.

Year over year, Executive Health Exams finds a previously unknown significanthealth abnormality in about 20 percent of patients examined, says McKeever. Themajority of these findings are in cancer and heart disease. Through early diagnosis, patients can seek treatment when the success rate for cure is the greatest.

The demand for effective preventive health care and health care informationis on the rise from both corporate America and individuals, continues McKeever. Whendetected early, many health abnormalities discovered from annual examinationscan be successfully treated. Therefore, it's not hard to understand why moreand more individuals are being proactive about their health management, and agreater number of corporations are embracing annual physical exams as a toolto better manage rising health care costs.

Executive Health Exams recently participated in a three-year study conducted by a Fortune 500 company that demonstrated a positive return on investment ($2.54 for each $1 spent on preventive care) when compared to actual medical claim costs and avoided cost due to early detection and treatment.2453111pubExecutive Health Examshttp://www.executivehealthexams.comjvb9001&&13:34-11- 5-2004kebloom14:27- 8-17-200404_15_04
