NEW YORK

NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital ranks first in New York and eighth in the nation for pediatric care, according to the U.S.News & World Report "America's Best Children's Hospitals" issue, which features a detailed listing of the nation's top 30 children's hospitals. The ranking accounts for NewYork-Presbyterian's two major centers for children's health care: Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital of NewYork-Presbyterian and the Komansky Center for Children's Health at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center.

NewYork-Presbyterian is listed with the highest possible score in three categories: Tetralogy of Fallot mortality (a heart procedure), Brain Surgery mortality and Technology.

The first stand-alone "America's Best Children's Hospitals" rankings reflect reputation, mortality rates and other patient-care-related factors. This special issue is available on newsstands on Monday, August 27. The complete report can be viewed at www.usnews.com/pediatrics.

"From newborns to adolescents, children in need of serious medical attention deserve the best care available. Through our affiliation with two of the nation's leading medical colleges—Weill Cornell Medical College and Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons—our pediatric specialists are continually introducing new advanced treatment options," says Dr. Herbert Pardes, president and CEO of NewYork-Presbyterian. "We are very pleased to be recognized as one of the leading children's hospitals included in the list of 'America's Best Children's Hospitals.'"
