Joe Ienuso has been named NewYork-Presbyterian’s group senior vice president of facilities and real estate, effective August 1. An experienced and effective leader in facilities management, Mr. Ienuso joins NewYork-Presbyterian from Northwell Health, where he was senior vice president of capital and financial operations.

In his new role, Mr. Ienuso will be responsible for maintaining facilities, capital assets and operational integrity for NewYork-Presbyterian. He will also oversee all facility development, engineering, capital planning and major construction projects, and provide planning expertise to Royal Charter Properties.

“Joe has a tremendous track record of developing and maintaining world-class facilities,” said Dr. Steven J. Corwin, president and CEO of NewYork-Presbyterian. “His leadership and insight will be an asset for us as we continue to expand our presence throughout the Greater New York area.”  

Mr. Ienuso has extensive experience in capital and facilities management for large, complex organizations. For more than a decade, he was the executive vice president for university facilities and operations at Columbia University. There, he formed a team of some 1,800 full-time employees responsible for the management of more than 240 buildings, 15 million gross square feet, some 5,600 undergraduate beds and 6,300 graduate and faculty residential apartments. Most recently, he led a team responsible for informing and executing system-wide strategic capital initiatives and infrastructure preservation efforts for Northwell hospitals and outpatient physician practices across the region.

He holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Columbia School of Business, as well as a bachelor’s degree in human services and counseling and a master of science in education from St. John’s University. In recent years, he has received numerous honors, including the Leadership Award from the Salvadori Center, the Corporate Social Responsibility Award from City & State Reports and was named a founding member of Corporate Alliance Program by Mayor Michael Bloomberg.
