NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital's Comprehensive Epilepsy Centers deliver compassionate quality care that includes support and educational programs. Social workers are available to meet with patients and their families to address issues such as counseling, health insurance, home care and long-term planning, and assistance with work and school issues.
Patients and families benefit from the programs of COPE (Care and Outreach for People Living with Epilepsy), which brings together the epilepsy team, the patient, his or her primary care provider, and community resources to deliver integrated care. The COPE program features health seminars, access to professionals, community services, and psychosocial support.
NewYork-Presbyterian's epilepsy specialists also go out into the community to help the public understand epilepsy and how to deliver first aid to someone having a seizure. Our team educates people and raises epilepsy awareness through health fairs, street fairs, wellness seminars, and workshops.
