Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine

Orthopedic surgeons care for muscle and joint disorders, from common concerns such as arthritis to more serious problems such as complex fractures or sports injuries. Orthopedic surgeons assess a patient's function and symptoms and may try to treat the problem by prescribing medication and/or physical therapy. If those approaches are not effective, surgery may be warranted. The goal is to restore comfort, function, and quality of life to each patient.
