Wound Care/Hyperbaric Medicine

Chronic wounds can result from disorders such as diabetes, peripheral vascular disease, and lymphedema, as well as other long-term conditions. Left untreated, patients may have an elevated risk of infection or amputation. The wound care specialists of NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Group Hudson Valley include physicians and vascular surgeons specializing in wound care and hyperbaric medicine, and certified wound care nurses and technicians. They treat all types of skin ulcers, lymphedema, wounds following skin graft and flap surgery, and wounds related to end-stage kidney failure.

Patients who require specialized wound management are referred to NewYork-Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital's Institute for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine, where they can receive advanced procedures such as hyperbaric oxygen therapy and transcutaneous oxygen measurement. We are the only facility in the region to provide this level of service.
