Lawrence Baskind

Lawrence Baskind, MD, FAAP

Pediatrics

Lawrence Baskind, MD, FAAP, is board certified in Pediatrics. He earned degrees from Princeton University and New Jersey Medical School, where he also completed a pediatric residency and served as chief resident. Dr. Baskind is a Clinical Associate Professor at New York Medical College and serves as a preceptor for medical students and residents. He is a Castle Connelly Top Doctor.

Dr. Baskind came to the Hudson Valley in 1987 to work at alocal health center, where he served as the director of pediatrics. In 1991, he cofounded Riverside Pediatrics, which is now a part of NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Group Hudson Valley.

Dr. Baskind grew up in Fair Lawn, New Jersey. He has a wife and two boys who share his love of science, the Knicks, snorkeling and traveling. In his free time, Dr. Baskind likes to shoot hoops and plays the bass guitar.

 
 
Michael Lasser, MD

Michael Lasser, MD, FAAP

Pediatrics

Michael Lasser, MD, is board certified in Pediatrics and is Chairman of the Department of Pediatrics at the NewYork-Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital. He earned his medical degree from New York Medical College and now serves as a preceptor for medical students in the school’s primary care education program. Dr. Lasser completed his residency in pediatrics at New York University Medical Center at Bellevue Hospital.

Dr. Lasser has practiced pediatrics in the Cortlandt and Peekskill area for more than 30 years and has been in practice for nearly 40 years. He truly enjoys working with his staff at NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Group’s Cortlandt Manor location.

Dr. Lasser grew up in Southern Westchester. He and his wife, Ellen, are the proud parents of two sons. In his leisure time, Dr. Lasser likes kayaking on the Hudson, crafting and woodworking.

 
Eric Mier

Eric Mier, MD, FAAP

Pediatrics

Eric Mier, MD, FAAP, is board certified in Pediatrics and earned his medical degrees from New Jersey Medical School and University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He completed his residency in Pediatrics at the University of Connecticut in Hartford. He serves as a preceptor for first-year medical students at New York Medical College.

Dr.  Mier is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and has been in private practice with Dr. Michael Lasser since 1998. Together, they work to improve health outcomes for children in the community and strive to educate parents about pediatric health concerns.

Dr. Mier is a proud father of two boys and encourages all parents to celebrate the joy of parenting. In his spare time, he enjoys exercising, bicycling, snowboarding, and eating great food.

 
Ellen Sandoval

Ellen Sandoval, MD, FAAP

Pediatrics

Ellen Sandoval, MD, FAAP, is board certified in Pediatrics and earned her medical degree from University of Miami School of Medicine. She completed her residency in Pediatrics at Schneider Children's Hospital at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. She also earned a master’s degree in human nutrition from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons.

Dr. Sandoval became a pediatrician and started practicing in rural Arkansas, where she also learned to love grits. She returned to New York to join the local Hudson Valley Health Center and practiced there for five years, along with Larry Baskind, MD and Mary Ellen Stavitz, CPNP. She has continued to work with them for the past 15 years in Croton, providing care for children and their families.

Dr. Sandoval grew up in Queens. She tries to enjoy everything life has to offer and loves being in the company of her two daughters and her black lab, Violet.

 
 

Taline Guekjian, NP

Pediatrics

Taline Guekjian, NP, is a family nurse practitioner who specializes in pediatrics, pediatric hematology and oncology, and pediatric ICU. Taline obtained her graduate degree at Pace University and graduated from the Family Nurse Practitioner Program there with a Master’s Degree in Nursing. After graduating from nursing school with a bachelor’s of science in nursing, Taline started practicing in pediatrics, pediatric hematology/oncology and pediatric ICU. She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.

With more than ten years of experience caring for pediatric patients, Taline started working in the emergency department at NewYork-Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital. Taline is committed to continuing education and enriching her emergency nursing knowledge and skills, to better serve both adults and children.

She strives to deliver quality and personalized care to her patients and believes the pursuit of good health starts with having a strong provider-patient relationship.
