Jonelle Bingham-Alexander

Jonelle Bingham-Alexander, MD, FACOG

Dr. Jonelle Bingham-Alexander is a board certified Obstetrician/Gynecologist with years of clinical and administrative experience. She is presently the Clinical Director of Obstetrics & Gynecology Department of the NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Group Hudson Valley. This New York native is a graduate of the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education, a 7 year accelerated BS/MD program at the City College of New York in 1997, Bachelors in Biomedical Sciences. She completed medical school at the Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY in 1999, then, went on to complete her residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at the Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center where she served as administrative chief resident in 2003.

Dr. Bingham-Alexander has worked in various suburban, rural, underserved communities and with health care systems in New York and other states throughout her career. This included her tenure as Medical Director of Women’s Health at one of the few free standing birthing centers in New York State where she worked very closely with midwives to provide a unique obstetrical service to the patients. She has been the recipient of various community and service excellence awards including the Doctor’s Day Award from North Central Bronx Hospital to name a few.

Dr. Bingham-Alexander believes in not just “fixing” medical problems, but in total healing of mind, body and spirit. She offers obstetrical and gynecological care including, but not limited to, treatment of fibroids, family planning/contraceptive management, adolescent care, complementary alternative medicine, menopausal care, chronic pelvic pain, prenatal care, high risk obstetrics and postpartum care. She provides surgical services such as laparoscopy, hysteroscopy, hysterectomy (vaginal, laparoscopic and abdominal) and surgical office procedures.

Dr. Bingham-Alexander is an accomplished saxophonist, who is married with children.

Meedlen Charles

Meedlen Charles, MD

Obstetrics & Gynecology

Dr. Charles graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BS in chemistry from the College of Saint Elizabeth in Morristown, NJ. She later graduated from Drexel University School of Medicine in 2001. She went on to train at Beth Israel Medical Center in NYC where she acted a Chief Resident.

In July 2005 Dr. Charles joined the Army and served as active duty military physician at Ft Riley, KS. In 2007 she was deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. After returning from Afghanistan in 2008 she was appointed Chief of the OB/GYN department at Irwin Army Community Hospital in Ft Riley, KS.

Dr Charles is board certified in general Obstetrics and Gynecology. She manages normal as well as high risk obstetrics complicated by hypertension, gestational diabetes, twin pregnancies. She is interested in VBAC, water births (first delivery at Hudson Valley Hospital was a water birth). She also works in conjuction with doulas. She offers a wide range of services in gynecology including minimally invasive laparascopic surgery, family planning and contraception, adolescent health counseling, menopausal management, urinary incontinence and infertility. She provides outpatient office procedures such as Essure vaginal sterilization, endometrial ablation, hysteroscopy.

Joanne Mazzio

Joanne Mazzio, CNM, NP, MS

Joanne Mazzio graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Lehman College of the City University of N.Y. where her initial interest in women’s health care and midwifery was sparked. After serving her home community of the Bronx as a public health nurse, she went on to work at Westchester Medical Center’s high risk maternity unit to gain the experience and skills that would serve as a foundation for her career as a midwife. Joanne graduated with honors from the Midwifery Education Program at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of NJ and later completed her Masters Degree in Midwifery at Downstate University. Joanne initially worked in North Central Bronx Hospital where she headed the Adolescent Prenatal Program and provided care to underserved women and teens in childbirth. After 7 years, she went on to join a private practice providing full scope midwifery care, including both well woman gynecology and obstetrical care to the women of Westchester County.

Dedicated to a personalized and holistic model of care, she has been honored to care for these women, their mothers, daughters and friends; touching the lives of the Hudson Valley community for the past 16 years.

Joanne is excited to be part of the OB/GYN of NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Group Hudson Valley in order to pursue her commitment to safe and compassionate midwifery care for women throughout their lives; from adolescence through menopause.

Lisa McLeod

Lisa McLeod, DO

Obstetrics & Gynecology

Lisa McLeod, DO, is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

Dr. McLeod earned her doctor of osteopathic medicine degree from Western University of Health Sciences in Ponoma, California and completed her internship at Mount Sinai Queens Hospital. She furthered her training with a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Wyckoff Hospital in New York.

As a DO, Dr. McLeod has studied the integrative processes of the body’s organ systems and how they impact a woman’s health. She believes in patient education and enjoys speaking to women about their reproductive and sexual health, as well as how to lead a more active and healthy lifestyle. 

Dr. McLeod provides a range of services to women of all ages, including standard prenatal care, high-risk pregnancy care, routine gynecological exams, and performs obstetrical procedures and gynecological surgeries.

She currently lives in the town of Peekskill, NY and enjoys spending time with her son.

Maria Rosato-Nierenberg

Maria Rosato-Nierenberg, CNM

Maria Rosato- Nierenberg, CNM began her professional career as a labor and delivery nurse at Albert Einstein Hospital in the Bronx, after graduating with a BSN from Lehman College in N.Y. It was there, that she was introduced to the compassionate care of midwives, and realized, that this was her calling. After her three children had started school, she pursued her midwifery education at SUNY Downstate, in Brooklyn N.Y, where she graduated with honors. Maria then dedicated the next nineteen years to providing obstetrical and gynecologic care to a diverse, underserved population in the Bronx, empowering women and providing positive birth experiences.

After the birth of her fourth child, attended by Joanne Mazzio, Maria entertained the possibility of practicing in Westchester County, with her long time friend and colleague. She is now honored to be part of NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Group Hudson Valley as of November of 2013. Maria brings with her, years of experience, and is excited to offer the women of Westchester County personalized, and full scope midwifery care.

Danielle Stracci, MS

Danielle Stracci

Danielle Stracci, LM, CM, MS, has been a practicing Certified Midwife since 2007. Before coming to the Hudson Valley, she worked in Brooklyn, Manhattan, and the Bronx, in a variety of medical environments. She enjoys attending water births, as well as the challenges that come with working with teenagers and high-risk pregnancies. Danielle received her BA in Biology at Manhattanville College and earned her MS in Midwifery at SUNY Downstate Medical Center. Danielle currently lives in Connecticut with her husband, daughter, and three cats. The cats are all named after famous writers.
